Active ingredient(s)

Each dose (1 drop – approx 40 μl) of reconstituted vaccine contains:

Brucella melitensis, live attenuated, strain Rev-1 ………………………. 0.5- 2 × 109 UFC*

*CFU: Colony forming units

Indications

Active immunisation of sheep and goats against brucellosis produced by Brucella melitensis to prevent infection and reduce clinical signs and/or lesions from the disease.

Contra-indications

Do not use in sick or stressed animals.

Special precautions

– Extreme asepsis in all cases. The vaccine should be administered within 6 hours of reconstitution. Do not use this medicine throughout the entire pregnancy. It can be dangerous for cattle and should not be brought into contact with vaccinated sheep and goats for at least 24 hours.

– For people: The vaccine may be pathogenic for humans. As it has been prepared with live attenuated micro-organisms, appropriate measures must be taken to avoid contamination of the handler and persons involved in the process.

– This veterinary medicinal product should not be administered by pregnant women. Be extremely cautious during reconstitution of the product and insertion of the dropper cap for application.

– Administer the vaccine avoiding any blasts of air and holding the animal’s head firmly.

– In the event of accidental contamination, go to a doctor immediately and show them the package insert or label.

– This organism is resistant to streptomycin

Posology

Ophthalmic administration of a single dose of 1 drop (approximately 40 μl) of vaccine to goats and sheep aged 3-6 months.

To reconstitute the vaccine, transfer 2.2 ml of the solvent to the vial containing the lyophilisate. Stir gently until a homogeneous suspension is obtained, avoiding the formation of foam. Carefully remove the capsule and cap and fit the dropper stopper correctly into the mouth of the vial.
