You have before you the first issue of the digital magazine ‘Hablemos de Rumiantes’ (Let’s talk about ruminants), designed especially for you, veterinarians specialist in ruminants. Our objective is clear: to create an essential space where you can find up-to-date, relevant and practical information to face the daily challenges of your profession. Hablemos de Rumiantes was created with the ambition of being your informative ally. In each edition, we will address the most important issues, from the most recent challenges such as bluetongue and epizootic haemorrhagic disease, to technical issues and practical tools that will help you continue to make a difference in your daily work, with both large and small ruminants.  Message from César Carnicer to veterinarians I am proud to announce the launch of the first issue of the newsletter ‘Let’s talk about ruminants’. This newsletter is part of our ‘Let’s talk’ initiative, which was launched a few months ago with the help of leading international scientists. This initiative was born as a consequence of the importance of the so-called ‘emerging vector-borne diseases’ such as Bluetongue or Epizootic Haemorrhagic Disease. Now with ‘Let’s talk about ruminants’ we want to provide you with a tool for professional updating and dissemination, which will be useful to you in your passion, which is also ours.
|  Current scenario of vector-borne diseases in ruminants If you are involved with the production of cattle or small ruminants, it is very likely that, in the last two years, you have faced the Bluetongue (BTV) or the Epizootic Haemorrhagic Disease (EHE/EHDV); from a clinical point of view, or because of the impact on the animal movements.
