Active ingredient(s)

Each dose (1 ml) of reconstituted vaccine contains:

Brucella melitensis, live attenuated, strain Rev-1………………………. 1 – 2 × 106 CFU*

*CFU: Colony forming units

Indications

Active immunisation of sheep and goats against brucellosis produced by Brucella melitensis to prevent infection and reduce clinical signs and/or lesions from the disease.

Contra-indications

Do not use in sick or stressed animals.

Special precautions

Ensure asepsis in all cases. Only vaccinate healthy animals. The vaccine may be dangerous to cattle. As a result, cows should not be kept in contact with vaccinated animals.

For people: The vaccine may be pathogenic to humans. Given that it was prepared with live attenuated micro-organisms, suitable measures must be adopted to avoid contamination of the handler and anybody else who takes part in the process.

This organism is resistant to streptomycin

Posology

To reconstitute the vaccine, inject 3-5 ml of solvent in the vial that contains the lyophilisate.

Shake gently to dissolve the vaccine and transfer the dissolved vaccine into the vial with the rest of the solvent.

Apply a single 1 ml dose of the vaccine subcutaneously to sheep and goats over 6 months of age.
