Indications

Treatment of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematode infections produced by albendazole-sensitive nematodes, in adult forms, larvae and eggs:

– Gastrointestinal roundworms: Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia circumcincta, O. trifurcada, Trichostrongylus axei, T. colubriformis, T. vitrinus, Cooperia curticei, Nematodirus filicollis, Chabertia ovina and Oesophagostomum venulosum.
– Lungworms: Dictyocaulus filaria.

Treatment of cestodiasis produced by Moniezia benedeni, M. expansa and M. denticulata.

Treatment of acute fascioliasis caused by adult forms of Fasciola hepatica.

Special precautions

Avoid treating sheep with dicrocoeliasis during the breeding period and the first 3 months of gestation. In all other cases, follow the dosage instructions fully during the first
month of gestation.

A single dose should be administered to newly introduced animals on entering the farm. These animals should be kept off pastures for at least 8 hours.

Posology

To ensure administration of a correct dose, bodyweight should be determined as accurately as possible, and the accuracy of the dosing device should be checked.
If animals are being treated collectively, they should be grouped by bodyweight and the dosage will be determined based on these weights, in order to prevent underdosing or overdosing.
Shake the container before use. The medicinal product is administered using a drenching gun.
Treatment of nematodiasis and cestodiasis: 5 mg albendazole/kg bw (equivalent to 1 ml of medicine per 5.5
kg bodyweight), as a single dose.
Treatment of fascioliasis: 7.5 mg of albendazole per kg bodyweight), as a single dose(equivalent to 1 ml of medicine per 4 kg bodyweight), as a single dose.
The treatment schedule or time should be based on epidemiological factors and should be adapted for each farm. The veterinarian should establish the treatment programme.
