Indications

Cattle

For the active immunisation of cattle to reduce viraemia caused by epizootic haemorrhagic disease virus serotype 8.

Establishment of immunity: 14 days after completion of the primary vaccination pattern.

Duration of immunity: not established

Deer

For the active immunisation of deer against epizootic haemorrhagic disease virus serotype 8.

Establishment of immunity: has not been established.

Duration of immunity: not established

Special precautions

Vaccinate only healthy animals. If used in other domestic and wild ruminant species considered to be at risk of infection, use in these species should be done with care and it is advisable to test the vaccine in a small number of animals before mass vaccination. The level of efficacy for other species may differ from that observed in cattle. No information is available on the use of the vaccine in cattle and deer with maternally derived antibodies.

Posology

Cattle:

Administer intramuscularly to cattle from 3 months of age according to the following pattern:

• Primovaccination: administer two doses of 2 ml at an interval of 4 weeks.
• Revaccination: a dose of 2 ml is recommended after 12 months.

Deer:

Administer intramuscularly to deer from 10 months of age according to the following pattern:

• Primovaccination: administer two doses of 2 ml at an interval of 4 weeks.
• Revaccination: a dose of 2 ml is recommended after 12 months.
