Happy 3 King’s Day to all!

Happy 3 King’s Day to all!

In many countries, the 6th of January is celebrated as the Epiphany.

The story tells that 3 powerful kings reigning in distant lands, having learned of the birth of Jesus, made a long travel to honour and offer precious gifts to the child who was supposed to reunite the peoples around the same quest. The great history has taught us that uniting the universe around the same goal is complicated. But tradition is more optimistic and has left us with a few simple and joyful moments that allow us to share good times together as a family, such as the Three Kings celebration.

In many countries, it is the occasion to share a delicious “3 king’s cake” with beloved family ones and to designate as king of the day, the one who has discovered the bean.

In Spain, it is also an opportunity to offer gifts to children. Just as in other countries, the great Saint Nicholas or Santa Claus are making children happy with their presents, in Spain, the tradition has it that the three Kings are the ones who carry out this distribution.

The Covid19 should not prevent us from continuing to share these moments that are essential to our family and social well-being! And, if our bubble is smaller, more children should be delighted with a crown!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank again, all the children of the Syva staff, who took part in the toy donation campaign which was organised between the 2nd and 21st December in collaboration with the Auryn association. Thanks to their generous donations, the association collected two large vans full of toys. Thanks to the children of Syva, the eyes of many other children will be filled with stars!

The Auryn association aims to defend children’s rights and ensure that children maintain the link with the places where they live and learn, which are essential to their development, whether it is at school or with their families. Its actions fall within the scope of access to education in a perspective of equality, the right to non-discrimination on ethnic, religious, cultural, social or gender grounds and access to creative and participatory leisure activities.

Happy 3 Kings’ Day to all!
