We wish all vets a happy San Francisco de Asís day!

On 4th October we celebrated Saint Francis of Asisi, patron saint of the veterinary profession.

Vets are an essential component not only for animal health but also for human, public and environmental health. At Syva and because of this day, we wish to offer an overall view of the versatility of this profession which is so important for our society today.

Looking after our animals is one of the most recognized and essential activities of this profession and a vet’s duties go well beyond this.

We remember their crucial role in human health thanks to monitoring, prevention and animal disease prevention tasks (zoonosis)

Skills such as food tracking and inspection (“from field to table”) ensures that everything that comes home complies strictly with health requirements.

We also stress the importance of tasks such as laboratory research and analysis, the contribution to vaccine development, customer control and environmental conservation.

Our aim is to raise public awareness of OneHealth. We understand that human, animal and environmental health are interconnected, whereby cooperation between vets, doctors and other health professionals can include all areas under the same slogan “One Health”.

“Medicine cures man and the vet cures mankind” Louis Pasteur.
